Requirements for the British citizenship test

Besides the general requirements for naturalisation, applicants must also have:

  • Traveled outside the UK for no more than ninety days in the one last year
  • Lived in the country for at least five years, without being away for more than 450 days
  • UK permanent residence (for all EEA nationals) or been given indefinite leave to live in the United Kingdom (you must have this for one year at least)
